Hockey player earns place in Talent Academy

Congratulations to Worth hockey player Felix Green who has been chosen for the Guildford Talent Academy playing squad following a series of trials. This is one step away from possible England selection as the national age group selectors attend Talent Academy matches to select players for their trials.

Felix, a goalkeeper, was put forward last spring by Worth’s Head of Hockey, double Olympian Mr Calum Giles. He attended a warm-up camp and two-day trial at the end of the summer holiday, which resulted in him being selected for the wider performance programme at Guildford.

Those players were then invited to another intense two-day trial in the October half term and from that Felix has been named in the Talent Academy playing squad. That camp involved pitch sessions and classroom sessions on such things as sports psychology and nutrition.

The Talent Academy is U15s up to U18s training and playing together, and Felix is the youngest goalkeeper involved. The first match is in December against East Grinstead TA and Sevenoaks TA, then in January there is a fixture against South TA in Portsmouth.

Well done Felix. We are proud of your achievement.
