History trip to Berlin
Tue, Nov 5th, 2024
Year 11 History students travelled to Berlin at the start of half term for a four-day trip which supported their GCSE studies.
The idea of the trip was to expand the students’ understanding of Weimar and Nazi Germany and Germany in the Cold War, as well as developing their German language skills.
Among the places they visited were the Reichstag government building, Sachsenhausen concentration camp, a former Russian secret prison from the Cold War, Checkpoint Charlie, the Holocaust memorial and museum, plus the Topography of Terror Museum on Nazi Germany.
This was a fascinating trip for our students and will help them immensely as they work towards their GCSE exams next year.
