Parenting expert Alicia Drummond, from The Wellbeing Hub, was at Worth on Monday to deliver two talks as part of our extended PSHE/RSE programme – one during the school day to Year 9 and 10 pupils and one in the evening to parents.

An accredited therapist, expert on parenting matters and sought after keynote speaker, Alicia is also a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for a Fit and Healthy Childhood, author and a mother. She is regularly sought for her expert opinion by the media including the BBC.

Her evening talk to parents, which was well attended, focused on the developmental drive of adolescence and how it impacts parent/child relationships and child behaviour. Alicia also discussed how parenting roles and approaches may need to be adapted, in order to help young people manage risk and avoid harm. Thank you to all parents who joined us for the talk on Monday.

The personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) curriculum at Worth offers a broad range of information, experiences and resources to draw upon for all year groups.
