A great term for rugby

Our U15A rugby boys provided the biggest highlights but there was plenty to celebrate for our rugby programme in the Autumn Term at Worth.

The U15A team won 11 of their 12 fixtures, with their only defeat coming in the fourth round of the National Vase when they were missing a number of players through injury. They finished the term with a points difference of plus 274 and were ranked 11th in Great Britain in the SOCS Sport school rankings.

Our 1st XV boys enjoyed plenty of success with six wins and a draw from nine tough fixtures. The fixture programmes are designed to challenge our rugby players with the aim of making them the best they can be.

Other highlights were the 2nd XV winning four of their eight fixtures, the 3rd XV suffering just one defeat, the U16A team recording five wins and a draw from nine games, the U15B team had five wins from six, the U15C team won both their fixtures and the U13A team were unbeaten.

With 16 representative teams, the sport at Worth is thriving under Head of Rugby, Mr Tom Richardson. In addition, we had a number of boys picked for academy programmes and representative sides.

We also run a girls’ rugby team at Worth. The girls made their first appearance at the National Sevens in 2022 and did very well.

The action photographs here were taken by professional photographer and Worth parent David Cannon. There are also team pictures of the U15A, U16A and U16B teams.
