Drama students at Worth stand to benefit from a partnership with professional actor Layton Williams and his exclusive performing arts training club.
Layton, who first rose to fame at the age of 12 with the title role in Billy Elliot the Musical, recently visited Worth to deliver a masterclass workshop for students and was so impressed by the School that he is ready to offer places at his Slay Club to Worth students.
Slay Club is a unique performing arts training and support club set up by Pros from the Shows founder Layton. Meeting six times a year, with venues in London and Bury, professionals teach aspiring actors aged eight to 18 new skills and techniques to bring them up to and beyond audition level. They also take students to West End shows where they can go backstage to speak to the performers after shows.
Two Worth students currently attend Slay Club but Layton hopes this new partnership with Worth will allow more of our Drama students the opportunity to further develop their skills.
Head of Drama at Worth, Mrs Natalie Lynch, said: “Layton really enjoyed it when he came here and he wants a partnership with Worth School so that our students have the opportunity to get into Slay Club.
“it is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn what it is like to be in that profession and be supported. Drama at Worth offers outstanding opportunities and to have the chance of further support from a professional with a link to the School is great for our students.”
