A great night of music

Our House Bands competition was a great example of both the musical talent we have within the School and of students across year groups coming together for a fun evening in a supportive environment.

House Bands is the second part of our annual House Music competition. The results from this part of the competition are added to House Shout results from earlier in the academic year to find an overall winner.

The boys of Rutherford House have dominated House Music in 2022-23. After winning House Shout in November, they also won the bands competition last Friday to be crowned overall winners. Their performance of Staying Alive included a great arrangement, super signing and excellent musicianship which impressed our judge, Abbey Director of Music Mr Edward Dean.

St Catherine’s, who performed I Will Survive, were second on the evening while Gervase, with their version of Don’t Look Back in Anger by Oasis, were third.

Well done to all Houses who took part. It was an excellent evening with a number of really good performances.
