Well done to the boys in Gervase and St Bede’s for some wonderful work raising money for their House charities.
Boys in Gervase have raised £500 for Running Well, a charity that provides communities living in remote and deprived parts of Uganda with access to clean water.
The money will go towards a water borehole which will be built at Naloose, a community of approximately 2,250 people. The community live in a remote, rural area with no clean water provision and they are currently using the swamp water shared with the animals because the nearest water borehole is far away and congested.
Meanwhile, boys in St Bede’s last week sent £800 to Mencap, an organisation which helps people with learning difficulties. This amount was raised in the Autumn Term through various events such as the Christmas raffle and tuck sold at the ‘Saturday Worth Cinema night’.
Our pictures show the St Bede’s House charity prefects, plus pictures of the swamp water in Naloose where the money raised by Gervase House will help build a water borehole.
