A fun evening with inflatables, a casino evening and a chance to check out the January sales at Bluewater are the highlights of this weekend’s programme for students.
The weekend starts on Friday evening with a chance to have fun with inflatables in the Sports Hall at Worth. At the same time the Robertson Suite will be open for those wanting to work on different aspects of fitness.
Our extensive Saturday morning programme includes Worth’s media society titled Worth News Video Magazine, the World Scholar’s Cup, the opportunity to work in charity shops in Haywards Heath, swimming, dodgeball, Python Programming Club, volleyball at the K2 Centre in Crawley and a chance to do some online volunteering, which will help anyone doing the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Other opportunities include our Sewing Club, badminton and fitness sessions for boys and girls, as well as two other societies: the Philosophy Society and the Vesalius Society for biologists.
For those pupils who would rather spend time reinforcing their studies, there is a wide range of support sessions including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Maths, Religious Studies and Spanish, as well as a Music clinic and the opportunity for Art scholars to work on their portfolios.
Some Year 12 students will be taking part in the second part of their Leadership Formation course in the Spencer Building.
In the afternoon there is a programme of netball and football representative fixtures, weather allowing (see below).
On Saturday evening Rutherford House will be hosting a casino evening for all other Houses, which promises to be a fun evening. Then on Sunday there will be an organised trip to Bluewater shopping centre to check out the January sales and the weekend closes with Mass in the Abbey Church at 8pm.
Our weekends programme is open to both boarders and day pupils and underlines our commitment to being a 7-day-a-week boarding school.
