Our 1st XI cricketers are looking forward to Sunday’s ‘Classic Clash’ with Sussex Martlets after following a draw in their annual fixture against an MCC XI with a convincing cup win.
Every year Worth welcomes an MCC XI at the start of the season and last Sunday’s game was an entertaining draw with Charlie receiving a ‘Spirit of Cricket’ award from the MCC for his all-round performance with bat and ball.
On Thursday Worth beat Christ’s Hospital by six wickets in the Langdale Cup T20 competition. The 1st XI plays Christ’s Hospital again tomorrow in a 35-over fixture before welcoming Sussex Martlets on Sunday.
Cricket at Worth is thriving and last November we were named among the top 100 cricket schools in the country for a seventh year in a row. This accolade, from The Cricketer magazine, reflected our cricket coaching programme, the School’s facilities, a compelling fixture list to test and stretch 1st XI players, and how we make the sport available to both boys and girls.
Ahead of the 2025 season, we created a film featuring 1st XI George McLoughlin. This was filmed by former 1st XI captain Ollie de Havas who is now a professional videographer with his company ODH Media.
