Worth’s senior golf team has reached the regional final of the Independent Schools Golf Association Team Matchplay Tournament.
The boys will now play Eastbourne College for a place in the last 20 in the country. This is a scratch competition (no handicap allowance) so the standard of golf is very high. The team of Yago, Juan and Friedrich produced a comfortable win in their semi-final, going through 3-0 against Sutton Valence at Cottesmore Golf Club last Thursday.
Worth School has its own golf course on the campus and a growing interest in the sport is being reflected in the coaching opportunities being made available to pupils, whatever their level of ability from beginner to more experienced players. This includes the Performance Golf Squad, which offers a high-level of coaching in a link-up with a Tilgate Forest Golf Centre.
