Worth students received glowing praise after progressing to the second round of the English-Speaking Union MACE competition.
Worth hosted the first round of the competition on Monday when three Worth boys spoke superbly to impress the visiting judges sufficiently to be put forward to the second round.
Head of English Mrs Dawn Clubb, who runs the Debating Society at Worth, said: “We have never received such positive feedback. The judges were incredibly complimentary about the team.
“We were delighted to host this event and it was absolutely lovely to have so many excellent debaters in the room from different schools. There were lots of members of Worth’s Debating Society there to watch and this will really inspire the society ahead of other upcoming competitions. We are looking forward to the Oxford Schools competition."
On Friday evening our annual Inter-House Debating final takes place in the Performing Arts Centre theatre from 7.30pm.
