More than 70 Worth students completed this year’s Worth Leadership Formation course which is designed to equip young people with leadership skills to help them in their onward journeys from the School.
Worth has been running this course for six years, teaching Year 12 students authentic leadership style, motivations and values. The course runs from September through to the Summer Term and includes a number of guest speakers.
Any students wishing to be considered for prefect positions have to complete the course but you do not have to be applying for such roles to undertake it. The aim is to form students in leadership, as well as showing them how faith connects to leadership.
The final session of the course included a ‘rose ceremony’ as well as a talk from Alexander McLean, Worth’s Social Entrepreneur in Residence who is the founder and CEO of Justice Defenders, as well as appearing in TIME’s ‘30 Under 30 Changing the World’ and ‘The Power List’ featuring Britain's most influential people of African and African-Caribbean heritage.
At Worth, academia and results are important, but we also believe that it is through the dual focus on the highest quality education and personal exploration that our pupils are shaped.
