Worth was delighted to welcome renowned speaker Allison Havey from The Rap Project to the School last week to deliver specially tailored talks to our Year 13 and Year 11 students.

The Year 13 talk was aimed at providing guidance and advice to students as they prepared to embark on the next stage of their lives, whether that be at university, in the world of work or taking a gap year.

Sharing quotes and anecdotes from first year university students, the talk focused on emotional wellbeing and developing resilience in managing the demands of study and exams.

Allison is a London-based author and co-founder of The RAP Project, an organisation delivering presentations to schools across the country. Having grown up in New York City and attended Sarah Lawrence College where she studied Russian, French and European History, Allison worked as a television and print journalist for 25 years for NBC, Associated Press and ABC News before becoming an educator.

She also delivered a talk to Year 11 students about their next steps in life, as well as emotional wellbeing and developing resilience. The talks were delivered through our PSHE (personal, social, health and economic) education programme.
