Congratulations to Farwell House for completing their Autumn Term charity challenge, raising £2,225 for the OSCAR Foundation – a sum which has now been matched by Manchester City Football Club to make a total of £4,450.

On the 16 October, the House community set its sights on collectively running/cycling/walking the equivalent distance of 8,770km (5,450 miles) from Turners Hill to Mumbai. The initial target was to raise £1,000 for the OSCAR Foundation, a charity which uses football as a tool to teach young people from the Ambedkar Nagar slums in India to raise their aspirations, empowering them to fight for their right to an education and access to basic facilities.

Housemaster Mr Jonathan Fry said: “I have been delighted with the Farwell response which has seen us cover over 11,000km and demonstrates that a sense of community unites us. Being part of a community can make us feel as though we are a part of something greater than ourselves.”

The OSCAR Foundation is the preferred charity of Manchester City Football Club, who agree to match fundraising totals such as that of Farwell House. If you would still like to donate please click here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/FarwellHouse
