Exploring politics

Year 12 and 13 A Level Politics students travelled to London recently to attend a politics conference called Polecon.

This conference had a focus on the upcoming general election and featured speakers such as Richard Tice, leader of Reform UK, and Jacob Rees-Mogg, a Conservative MP, before finishing with The Rest is Politics hosts, Alistair Campbell and Rory Stewart, hosting a Q&A session as part of their podcast.

Students had the opportunity to ask questions throughout the day, with these ranging from questions about specific policies to broader questions on human rights.

This was an excellent trip to broaden their understanding of what is being taught in the classroom.
