Worth is delighted to celebrate once again another excellent set of results in the UK Chemistry Olympiad. The Olympiad is a highly demanding three-hour written examination set by the Royal Society of Chemistry and designed to stretch the strongest students in the country.
While this is typically aimed at Year 13 students, Worth entered mainly Year 12 students who performed superbly, achieving a 100% certificate rate. Between them, three students achieved a Bronze award and two Silver awards – an outstanding outcome at this level of challenge.
Nationally, 17,241 students entered the competition. In a particularly exceptional result, Masato, from Year 13, achieved the coveted Gold award, placing him in the top 8.5% of all students nationwide. This is an outstanding achievement and a testament to his dedication and ability.
We are incredibly proud of all the students who put themselves forward for this demanding competition and rose so successfully to the challenge.
This followed impressive results for the School in the recent Biology Olympiad and Physics Olympiad.
