Enriching talk for students

There was a fascinating talk offered by the Academic Scholars’ Society last week as Mr James Coleman spoke about ‘Augustine and Christian Metaphysics’.

The talk by Mr Coleman, who is Assistant to the Head of Sixth Form and a Religious Studies teacher, was open to all members of the Academic Scholars’ Society as well as any student in Years 12 and 13 who was interested in attending.

Worth’s Academic Scholars’ Society is open to all students, not just scholars, and provides a wide range of experiences and challenges to build upon academic learning and success.

The Society meets once a week and this term there will be a host of speakers, both internal and external, who will be delivering talks on a variety of topics.

The Academic Scholars’ Society also helps students in preparing applications to top universities and highly competitive courses, it offers enriching trips and encourages students to challenge themselves by entering national academic competitions.

A huge range of opportunities for academic enrichment exist outside of the classroom at Worth.
