Worth School

Congratulations to Worth Drama student Jess Lynch who has won a place at The BRIT School from thousands of applicants.

This is a great reflection on the Drama department at Worth which puts on three productions a year, as well as providing other opportunities to stretch and challenge keen Drama students.

Jess has appeared in a number of shows at Worth including playing Jane Seymour in the recent production of Six the Musical, Anna in Frozen and Mrs Trunchball in Matilda. She will start at The BRIT School in September, in the musical theatre strand, and the course will allow her to study core GCSE subjects as well as working towards a Diploma in Musical Theatre.

The BRIT School (British Record Industry Trust) is a selective free-to-attend performing and creative arts secondary school in Croydon. It has been a stepping stone to careers in the entertainment business for many people over the years, including the likes of Adele, Jessie J, Katie Melua, Olivia Dean and Tom Holland

Head of Drama Mrs Natalie Lynch said: “We are so proud of Jess within the Drama department and how far she has come as a musical theatre performer. The BRIT School is highly competitive and I am so amazed that she has got one of the selected places from thousands of applications. In Drama, we aim to give students a passion to perform, as well as the skills and tools to go on to a professional performing environment.”

Well done Jess.
