With a team including some students taking part in their first external debating competition, Worth’s Debating Society delivered another strong performance in the Oxford Schools’ Competition.
Sending a completely different team to the one that had won the second round of the English-Speaking Union MACE Competition debate 24 hours earlier, this was a great experience for all involved but especially some of the Society’s younger debaters.
With 80 schools taking part in this regional round and only five going forward to the national finals, Worth did not progress but the eight students involved should be proud of their efforts.
The next event for the Debating Society is the Cambridge Schools’ Debating Competition in Maidstone next weekend.
