Cricket thriving at Worth ahead of new season

Cricket at Worth is thriving and we are excited about the new season which gets underway for the 1st XI this Saturday.

Last November Worth was named among the top 100 cricket schools in the country for a seventh year in a row. This accolade, from The Cricketer magazine, reflected our cricket coaching programme, the School’s facilities, a compelling fixture list to test and stretch 1st XI players, and how we make the sport available to both boys and girls.

This summer we will be running 14 representative teams from U13 up to 1st XI, including a 1st XI girls’ team who begin programme of fixtures against Ardingly a week on Saturday.

The 1st XI – which is open to boys and girls – begin this Saturday against an FCCA XI put together by our Head of Cricket, Mr Raj Chaudhuri, and will include a number of former Worth students. Upcoming fixtures include annual matches against an MCC XI on Sunday 27 April and Sussex Martlets on Sunday 4 May.

Ahead of the new season we have created a new film featuring 1st XI captain George McLoughlin. This has been filmed by former 1st XI captain Ollie de Havas who is now a professional videographer with his company ODH Media.
