Cricket awards 2025

Wed, Jul 2nd, 2025
Worth School

Another successful season for cricket at Worth, which included reaching two cup finals, was celebrated with the annual 1st XI awards.

Despite missing four frontline bowlers including captain George McLoughlin who is joining Surrey Academy this summer, the 1st XI was competitive throughout the campaign and reached the Langdale Division Two Cup final.

The U15A Boys, meanwhile, won the Blackshaw Division Two Cup to complete a good season where they won seven games out of 11 from a challenging fixtures programme.

Worth fielded 13 representative sides in the Summer Term including five girls’ teams. The 1st XI girls finished their season with four wins from five games.

At the 1st XI awards last week, Charlie won Player of the Year and Best Batter awards, while Fraser was named Best Bowler of the Year. Colours and Half Colours were also presented.

Cricket at Worth is led by Mr Raj Chaudhuri, a former professional cricketer and Level 4 coach who has coached county programmes, academy sides, age group squads and at ICC international tournaments.
