A huge well done to Coco Clifford-Jones who became the first Year 8 pupil to win our prestigious Classics Cup.

The annual Classics Essay Competition now in its eighth year, is for Latinists in Year 8 and Year 9. Following a trip to Fishbourne Roman Palace, a 100-room villa near Chichester, Year 8 pupils are tasked with producing at least a 1,000-word project advertising and selling this unique property as it was 2,000 years ago. Year 9, meanwhile, have to write an essay of at least 1,500 words on a classical topic of their choice.

The 2022-23 Classics Essay Competition results were announced recently and such was the high standard of the essay written by Coco, who is now in Year 9, she was awarded the Classics Cup.

Classics at Worth is led by Mr Phil Towler and courses covering Latin and/or Greek are offered at GCSE, Pre-IB, IB and A Level.
