Students at Worth were this morning asked to play their part in continuing to reduce the School’s environmental footprint.
The student-led Common Home Committee was established during the 2019-20 academic year and has already affected great change at the School. Water fountains have been installed in every boarding House and in the Pit Stop. This has reduced the number of plastic bottles and encouraged students to fill up their bottles before lessons or sports. Also, the recycling strategy was improved and optimised by teaming up with ACM Environmental Ltd. They take the recyclable waste from Worth to the most suitable destination, which is hugely beneficial for the environment because it reduces traveling time and allows us to recycle our waste sufficiently.
The CHC wants to continue to make a difference and in assembly this morning all students were asked to consider what they could do to help improve our environment at Worth. Head Boy Caspar Pöppinghaus, speaking via video link, also invited applications from students to join the committee which meets half-termly.
