Celebrating World Book Day

Fri, Mar 3rd, 2023
Worth School

Worth celebrated World Book Day yesterday with a variety of activities including a scavenger hunt for our youngest pupils and a ‘masked reader’ quiz for Years 9 and 10.

Year 13 Language B students planned the scavenger hunt for pupils in Years 7 and 8, which involved solving a series of clues to find different books hidden around the campus.

The ‘masked reader’ activity featured films of staff members reading their favourite books and hidden by a mask. Pupils had to work out who the staff member was by listening carefully to the voices and looking for clues. The idea of all our activities was to encourage a love of reading and introduce pupils to new books they might enjoy.

World Book Day, which was first held in 1997, is an annual celebration in more than 100 countries across the world promoting reading and writing.
