Celebrating World Book Day 2026

Our youngest pupils began World Book Day celebrations by going off campus to attend a talk with award-winning author Sarah Crossan, who is best known for her books for young adults, including Apple and Rain and One.

Further activities and competitions will be held on campus for pupils in Years 7 and 8 tomorrow and early next week to celebrate this important occasion.

World Book Day is a global initiative, celebrated in more than 100 countries, to promote reading and foster a love of books among children. First held in 1997, it is marked each year on the first Thursday in March.

At Worth we recognise the importance of reading and this was a good opportunity to reinforce messages promoted throughout the academic year.
