Worth School

There was plenty to celebrate with exam results at Worth this summer, both the overall set of results and some outstanding individual achievements.

Recently we posted the first of two articles, asking some of our A Level students about their success, how Worth helped them, their time at the School and their plans for the future. Here, we hear from three more including twins Emilia and Sophia.

Well done to all our A Level students and best wishes for the future.

EMILIA MIAKOWSKA

Which subjects did you take and what were your results? I took English Literature, Religious Studies and History for my A Levels and received an A in each, alongside an A* in my EPQ.

How did you feel when you got your results? It felt incredibly gratifying to receive my results after a period of intense hard work.

How did Worth help you achieve those results? During the entire process Worth was invaluable in supporting me and therefore providing me with an awareness into the importance of hard work and consistency in revision.

How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? I will look back at Worth as a time of great happiness and one in which I am very grateful for the memories that I have made.

What are you hoping to do next? After my gap year, in which I am hoping to travel, I will be studying English Literature at Exeter University and following on with a Law conversion course.

SOPHIA MIAKOWSKA

Which subjects did you take and what were your results? I took Politics, History and Economics and received the grades of A*, A, A in addition to an A* in my EPQ.

How did you feel when you got your results? I felt relieved and happy, but mostly gratified that all my hard work paid off.

How did Worth help you achieve those results? Worth gave me insight into the importance of working hard independently whilst offering immense support. Most importantly, it enabled me to greatly enjoy my subjects and consistently have fun throughout.

How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? My time at Worth has been one of great happiness and one in which I will never forget and will look back at fondly in the years to come.

What are you hoping to do next? Following on from a gap year in which I will be travelling, I will be attending Exeter University to study Law.

FREDDIE GERARD-SHARP

Which subjects did you take and what were your results? I took History, Politics, Drama and I received A* A A as well an A* in EPQ

How did you feel when you got your results? I felt very relieved after I opened my results and a sense of happiness and thankfulness came over me.

How did Worth help you achieve those results? Worth definitely helped me achieve my full academic potential as in my previous school I was bottom-set for most subjects but at Worth I was able to truly flourish and took advantage of the support and encouragement from all my teachers and House staff. Special mention to my teachers Ms Clarke, Mrs Lynch, Mr Gostlow and my tutor Mr Bindloss.

What are you hoping to do next? This Autumn I am going to King’s College London to study History and French with a year abroad.
