Celebrating diversity and languages 2026

Mon, Sep 28th, 2026
Worth School

Worth organised a series of fun and engaging lessons last Friday to celebrate European Day of Languages.

Among the lessons planned by the Modern Foreign Languages department, Year 10 took part in a quiz while eating tapas while Year 8 students brought in food from around the world which they spoke about to their peers.

Meanwhile, our careers department focused their weekly newsletter for students on careers using languages while our catering department prepared a special European Day of Languages lunch menu which brought together flavours from around the world.

At Worth, we are fortunate to study, work and live alongside people whose native language is not English. Each member of the Worth community brings a life of different experiences and perspectives from which we can all learn.

The European Day of Languages is an annual event celebrated each year on 26 September which provides an opportunity to celebrate diversity and to highlight the importance of learning languages in today’s world.
