As an end of season celebration of debating at Worth, a students versus staff charity debate took place at the School in a packed Performing Arts Centre.
Some of the best debaters among our Year 13 leavers took on a staff team featuring Head Master Mr Stuart McPherson and Head of English Mrs Dawn Clubb, who oversees debating at Worth. Money raised from the sale of tickets went to Save the Children.
The students showed their debating talents by being chosen as winners by the judges.
Debating is flourishing at the School. Since winning a national competition – the Ethics Cup – in 2022, the success stories have continued with Worth reaching the Regional Final of the English-Speaking Union Competition for the first time in the School’s history in March.
Worth runs Senior, Middle and Junior debating societies.
