Many congratulations to four students who performed superbly as they represented Worth at the National Prep Schools Athletics Finals in Nuneaton this week.
All four qualified for the Sussex team in their individual events as well as the relay team and all four did extremely well against the best in the country.
Eddie was first up in the long jump and, after three initial jumps, he qualified for the top eight and a further three jumps before placing sixth overall. The weather changed by the time of the high jump competition with rain and wind making conditions difficult but Roman did well to place eighth overall with a best clearance of 1.40m.
Freddie competed in the 100m, finishing fourth in his heat which was not quite enough to make the final and his time saw him finish 12th overall. Ethan again had to battle the wind in the 300m race and his time was enough to earn 15th overall.
The boys then regrouped for the relay and came fourth in a very quick heat. Their time was the eighth fastest which meant they qualified for the final where they improved upon that to finish an excellent seventh.
Well done to all four boys for a fantastic effort and for showing terrific commitment.
