In a week when former student turned sound engineer Oli Jacobs won another two Grammys for his work with Kendrick Lamar, Worth is proud of the music opportunities it provides to students and last Friday’s hugely enjoyable Informal Percussion and Guitar Concert was another example of that.
The concert was the fourth this year in our Informal Series. These occasions offer the chance for students at all levels of their music development to perform in front of their peers and parents in a supportive environment.
This evening we hold Live Lounge, a popular open mic event which gives rock and pop musicians a platform to perform, while at the end of February we will have House Bands, which is the second part of this year’s House Music competition.
Later this term the Music department will have two events in the Abbey Church – our termly Ensembles’ Concert on Thursday 19 March and Tenebrae on 26 March – while we will also be staging the Worth Musician of the Year semi-final. In addition, our Chamber Choir will sing Evensong at Chichester Cathedral on Wednesday 4 March.
