With excellent performances, some great singing and plenty of fun, the first part of this year’s House Music competition was a hugely entertaining evening.
House Music is split into two parts – House Shout, last Friday, which is when all members of each House take part, and House Bands, which is held later in the year.
All nine senior Houses took part and the competition was judged by West End actor Matthew Goodgame, who also works as peripatetic singing teacher at Worth. Mr Goodgame chose St Catherine’s as the winner, praising their harmonies, choreography and outfits as they performed ‘Grenade’ by Bruno Mars.
Overall, Mr Goodgame said it has been “a great night” and difficult to judge due to the quality of the performances. The evening featured songs by Backstreet Boys, Natasha Bedingfield, Coldplay, Bastille, ABBA, Toto, Sean Kingston and One Republic, with Rutherford House coming second and St Mary’s third.
Well done to everyone who took part.
