Another excellent Ensembles Concert

Mon, Mar 18th, 2024
Worth School

Worth’s musicians celebrated this term’s music making with an excellent Ensembles Concert in the Abbey Church.

The concert last Thursday featured the School’s Concert Band, Jazz Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Choir and Camerata.

A wide range of repertoire varied from big band arrangements of jazz classics such as Don't Get Around Much More and Harlem Nocturne, choral music, excerpts from The Greatest Showman and The Hunger Games as well as pieces by Mozart, Mussorgsky and Purcell.

Last Friday we hosted an Informal Pianists’ Concert, which was the third in our series of informal concerts. The evening was an opportunity to showcase the abilities of Worth’s myriad of pianists, with music from Chopin to Erik Satie and a Mexican-themed piano duet.

Our next big musical event at Worth is Tenebrae in the Abbey Church this Thursday (7.45pm).
