Worth’s award-winning alumni society brings many benefits for students and that was in evidence again as the School recently hosted its inaugural Model United Nations conference.
When the School was looking for a high-profile guest speaker who could provide real and relevant insight to the student delegates in attendance, we turned to our alumni network.
Toby Rumford, who now works as one of the diplomats in the UK Delegation to NATO, travelled especially from Brussels to talk at the conference, passing on great information about how life took him from Worth via university to a job working for NATO, as well as providing wider career advice about working as a civil servant.
The School received great feedback from current and visiting students at the conference about how interesting and helpful the speech was.
This was all arranged through the Worth Society, the School’s thriving alumni network that enables former pupils and staff to stay in touch with one another for business and social networking purposes, providing careers advice, support and lifelong guidance.
Ahead of leaving Worth, Year 13 students attend an assembly in the Lent Term when Worth Society manager Mrs Mary Lou Burge talks about the support on offer to them throughout their ongoing journey from the School. It is a lifelong relationship, highlighted by the fact that we host a 60-year reunion each year at the School.
