at Worth

At Worth, we seek to inspire our students with the love of learning and intellectual curiosity that will prepare them both for the challenges they will face at school and those to follow when they leave Worth. High standards of teaching and first-class facilities enable our pupils to aim high throughout their time at the School and to fulfil their academic potential, whether through the A Level or the International Baccalaureate.

Each pupil's academic progress is carefully monitored and parents are kept closely informed at regular intervals throughout the year, and every girl and boy has a tutor to support her or his academic development.

Myriad opportunities for academic enrichment exist outside of the classroom in the School's academic societies, lecture programmes, departmental trips and visits.

“The quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent. Pupils display high level study skills and are challenged by the expectations of their teachers. Their attitudes to learning are excellent and they recognise that the School values a positive attitude rather than pure outcomes. Pupils’ achievements across an abundant range of activities are outstanding.” ISI Inspection 2017

Annual Promotion

Worth School accepts pupils on the expectation and hope that they will complete their secondary schooling at Worth; however, annual promotion is subject to the pupil having shown satisfactory academic performance, as determined by the Head Master, and a good disciplinary record. The School may, at the Head Master's discretion, make entry to the Sixth Form conditional upon the results of GCSE/IGCSE examinations. Normally, pupils entering the Sixth Form will have at least six GCSE Grades of 6 or above.

“Pupils’ attitudes to learning are excellent and they work well collaboratively as well as individually.” ISI Inspection 2017.
