Girls in St Mary’s Sixth welcomed elderly guests into their House for an afternoon tea last Sunday as part of Worth’s ongoing relationship with the charity Befriended.
Befriended is a charity serving isolated, elderly people in Mid Sussex and is one of the School’s partner charities.
St Mary’s girls welcomed visitors into their House, providing them with entertainment, friendship, hospitality and refreshments, as well as joining them for carols.
Gail Millar, chief executive of Befriended, said: “We love our partnership with Worth School. It was a wonderful afternoon full of friendship, laughter, singing, eating and joy.”
One guest said: “What a wonderful afternoon, the students were delightful and were so interested in chatting with us.” Another said: “I loved my afternoon, all the girls were so kind and loving. The girl who played the trumpet for the carol singing was great. Thank you for picking me up so I could come.”
