Worth students are celebrating their best ever performance at a Model United Nations conference after claiming an outstanding five awards at one event.
The School sent 13 students, representing Years 7 to 13, to compete at the annual Lingfield College MUN conference last Saturday. All the students were excellent as Worth came away with one ‘Distinguished’ award and four ‘Commended’.
Mr Will Warwick, who is our Gifted and Talented Coordinator, runs Model United Nations at Worth. He said: “I am absolutely delighted. It really is an impressive achievement because each of the committees have 30 or 40 delegates and only three in each will get an award. Your students can do really well and still come away with nothing.
“As far as I am aware this is the most amount of awards we have ever had. We have more students than ever wanting to get involved with MUN; we have two societies (senior and junior) and there is a call for a third, which is fantastic.
“The students are phenomenal. Their level of enthusiasm and work is tremendous.”
Congratulations to Carl, Curtis, Thomas, Ying and Jake for winning awards but well done to all students who were involved last Saturday.
