Thank you to all families who made a donation towards our school charity Mary’s Meals on Speech Day. We are delighted to be well on our way to fully funding a feeding project at the Farsee Korma Public School in Liberia for a ninth successive year.
Worth has been raising funds for Mary’s Meals – and specifically the Farsee Korma School – since 2017 and in that time the Worth community has raised more than £60,000 for the charity’s ‘Sponsor a School’ programme.
The idea of the programme is that it provides a meal for children in impoverished counties around the world every day they attend school. By encouraging children to attend school and get an education, it gives them hope and a possible route out of poverty.
It costs £19.15 to sponsor a child for whole school year and we know the generosity of the Worth community can make a transformational difference.
Service is an important part of an education at Worth. It supports our mission to develop the whole person.
At Speech Day at the end of May, families were invited to make donations to the School’s two main charities: Mary’s Meals and Justice Defenders.
Thank you to everyone who has helped with our fundraising over the years.
