A fabulous trip to Barcelona

A Modern Foreign Languages trip to Barcelona provided an opportunity for students to develop their Spanish speaking skills as well as to find out more about the culture and history of the city.

Students in Years 10 and 12 went on the four-day trip in the final week of the academic year. The trip included visiting the Barcelona Aquarium, a boat trip along the waterfront and a visit trip to Montjuic Castle which offered 360-degree views of the area. There was also a chance to take part in paella cooking at Poble Espanyol and then an outing to Sagrada Familia Basilica, the largest unfinished Catholic church in the world.

This was a fascinating trip and one of two overseas excursions in the final week of term, with a group of Year 10 students going to Paris.
