A fabulous surf trip to Morocco

A group of 28 students enjoyed a wonderful experience before Christmas as they went on a Sixth Form surf trip to Morocco.

Worth runs a range of trips, in the UK and overseas, throughout the academic year but this was the first time we had run a surf trip.

Morocco is quickly becoming one of the world’s favourite winter surfing destinations, guaranteeing sunny weather and reliable waves for every level of surfer. A programme of events was organised for the students when they were not in the water, including a visit to historic caves, shopping at a local market and a community business tour to a company that made cream and honey.

Other entertainment included a bracelet making activity, yoga, freestyle dancing with a local dance troupe, a magic show performed by staff member Mr Dan Weaver, football on the beach and relaxing in cafés overlooking sunsets. There was also an awards ceremony at the end of the trip for best surfer, most improved and other fun awards.

This was a fantastic trip for our students and provided an alternative to the senior ski trip to Austria which took place at the same time.

A number of further overseas trips are planned for 2025 included a History/Politics trip to Washington in February, a junior ski trip in April, languages trips to Seville and Paris in June plus the biennial music tour which this year will be to Lake Garda in Italy in the summer.
