1st XI continue excellent start

Our 1st XI cricketers have made a fabulous start to the season with six wins in nine matches after recording a third successive victory on Saturday.

Captain Ollie impressed with bat and bowl in a nine-wicket victory against St John’s School, Leatherhead, last weekend. St John’s batted first and were bowled out for 144 with Ollie taking 5-58, George 2-37 and Sam 2-25. In reply Worth romped home for the loss of just one wicket with Ollie (68) and Tommy (76 not out) showing a lot of maturity and skill.

Saturday’s win followed victories in the last fortnight over Sutton Valence School and Christ’s Hospital. In nine matches this season so far, the 1st XI has lost just twice and one of those defeats came in the annual prestige friendly against an MCC XI.

Well done to the boys and girls of the 1st XI.
