Butler House is situated in the heart of the school which is extremely helpful when it comes to the boys arriving to their lessons on time!
The atmosphere in the House is one of genuine community, fun and integration amongst all of the year-groups. As a house we very much enjoy spending our free time engaged in various activities, whether it be trips to the cinema, restaurants, paintballing, supporting the local football team, pizza parties and much more. A popular house event is the annual go karting outing and whilst the boys struggle to beat their Housemaster it is all in the name of having fun.
The Butler boys are very much focused on their studies but we do feel it is also important that they enjoy their down-time. Our house motto, Omnia possibilia sunt credenti meaning ‘all things are possible to him that believes’, neatly sums up the aim of life in Butler. We seek to foster a genuine commitment to the welfare of all; an enthusiasm for life in all its aspects, combined with compassion, kindness, consideration and respect for others.
Over the past two years we have built a relationship with a local primary school whereby the senior boys in the House help with, and at times teach, classes from Year 1 to Year 6. This has been an amazing experience for the boys and has opened their eyes to life beyond Worth, which is important for their development and their future happiness.
The new Housemaster for 2017-18 is Mr Andrew Brinkley (pictured with his family). Mr Brinkley is a History teacher who was formerly Deputy Housemaster in St Bede's. He is married to Saskia and they have a young family. Deputy Housemaster is Mr Bruce Morrison and Boarding Tutor is Mr Andrew Olle.
